A study of antibody formation by Baptisia tinctoria T.M. in experimental animals

Injections of Baptisia tinctoria T.M. (Wild Indigo) were administered i.m. to two healthy rabbits six times at weekly intervals. Blood samples were collected before, during and at the conclusion of the trial. Blood was analysed for antibodies against Salmonella typhosa, using the Widal reaction. A total leucocyte count was also carried out. A third rabbit was kept as control and was injected only with normal saline i.m. Its blood samples were also collected according to the above schedule. No formation of antibodies against Salmonella typhosa was observed in any experimental animal or control whereas marked leucopenia was observed in both experimental rabbits

Elevation of serum globulin levels in Chelidonium majus 6c provers

Ten healthy volunteers were administered orally 0.04ml of Chelidonium majus 6c t.d.s. for 21 days. Seven healthy volunteers were kept as controls and administered orally 0.04ml. of 90percent ethanol t.d.s. The trial was single blind. Fasting venous samples were collected before and after the trial. Serum samples were analysed for total bilirubin, albumin, globulin, total cholesterol, prothrombin time and GPT. Serum globulins registered an increase of 58percent, while the other parameters showed no changes

A study of serum electrolyte and thyroid hormone changes in Iodum provers

An attempt was made to evaluate changes of serum Na+, K+, T3 and T4 in healthy provers after treatment with Iodum. Iodum 12x was administered to a group of 11 healthy female students for 21 days. Serum Na+, K+, T3 and T4 were estimated before exhibition of the drug, and on the 11th and the last day of the trial. T3 showed an increase by 20//and T4 by 5//.
